Hi, I’m vangelis.

Vangelis Varis was born in Athens, Greece, and for the last 24 years, he has lived on the island of Evia. He was introduced to the oriental arts through Tai Chi, Yoga, and Thai massage after that it was easy to flow with the beauty of healing bodywork.

At the Sunshine House, he met his first, and very special teacher and mentor, (Krishna)Takis, who has been a strong influence since 2005

Many other amazing teachers came on his way and shaped his practice. Always a student, yet with some of them, also been an assistant and therapist in their courses since 2012 around Greece and abroad (Vienna, Zurich, Germany, Spain, Moscow, and more). Other techniques that have studied and greatly influenced him are Chi Nei Chang, Lomi-Lomi, Osteo-Thai, and Craniosacral. The last two therapeutic approaches and practices were thrust to enrich his knowledge from a new perspective

So deeply inspired by the scientific Western approach to Osteopathy, he has begun a new journey at SICO (Swiss International College of Osteopathy), which has provided him with a unique touch in his treatments and has greatly influenced his teachings.

Having completed his five years of study, he has managed to combine all the therapeutic techniques, approaching holistically and uniquely each patient.

Since 2015 he has taught, running workshops and seminars in Greece and abroad as well as giving therapeutic sessions.

For the last three years, he has maintained his treatment center in Chalkida Greece.

Today he unites all his knowledge, experience, talent, and passion and has created the ‘Olon’ project as a space of healing, sharing, growing , enjoying, and honoring life and humans.

and i'm afendula.

Afendula Kaltsidi was born and raised in Evia. From a young age, she felt a great connection with the beauty and healing properties of nature, which she manifested through cooking. At first, she devoted herself to the preparation of healthy meals for her family and then began to share the passion at the Sunshine House seminars and retreats throughout Europe.

She likes to combine traditional Greek recipes with vegan/vegetarian ethics to deliver nutritious meals for the body and spirit, with an emphasis on seasonality and the use of local products. Her studies in Thai Yoga Massage, Five Elements & Food Detox, classes of Craniosacral Therapy, Cupping, nutrition, permaculture, healing herbs & salves, and, of course, many cooking seminars and confectionery, have created a holistic approach regarding diets. She believes that all species of medicinal kitchen exist to help the body, mind, and soul to self-healing and are not limited to a single philosophy and practice in cuisine. Classes of alternative therapies are what initially set her apart as a cook, and to this day, she happily serves it, remaining open to new culinary collaborations.

Her skills are not limited only to cooking but also involve shaping the menu, organizing and coordinating the people in her kitchen; she is responsible for orders, etc. Afendula has been active in the area of cooking as a vegetarian-vegan chef since 2009, having worked as a kitchen manager at a retreat center and individual retreats, seminars in Greece and abroad, a private chef in Greek islands, and in other European events, including Erasmus programs. She has also worked at Demetra Resto, the first plant-based macrobiotic restaurant in Greece.

In addition, she organizes seminars on cooking in her vegetable garden, which she calls “Cooking in my garden,” wanting experientially to collect each one participating in its merit and benefits, our contact with nature and food. At the same time, it enriches with every opportunity her knowledge. In 2021, she completed a streak of courses at the first Vegan school of cooking in Greece headed by Nikos Gaitanos. For 2023-234, she has already started training at the Food Future Institute by Matthew Kenney.

Her open heart and desire to nurture others are felt in the vibes and the abundance of her food.
